Between #502 update courses I had no clean way to keep my deck current. RegLogic flags every amendment to my authorized standards since my last cert.

The problem

I’m authorized in Construction. My last #502 was in 2023. The next one is 2027. In between, the regulations I teach get amended, and I have no clean way to track which amendments I should be teaching this quarter.

I was relying on a mix of OSHA email alerts, trade-press summaries, and word of mouth from other trainers at conferences. It worked, mostly. It also missed things.

What changed

RegLogic’s ‘update since my last cert’ filter does exactly what it says. I entered my 2023 #502 date and got every amendment to 29 CFR 1926 since then, with summaries written for trainers.

I update my slide deck against that list every quarter. Takes about an hour. The list is the work; I just have to do the editing.

The result

My students stopped asking me about regulations I hadn’t covered. That’s the most direct measure of whether the deck is current, when students don’t notice the gap, the gap isn’t there.

When my 2027 recertification comes up, I’ll already know the material. The update course will be a refresher, not a fire-drill.
