The problem
Audit prep at our multi-site manufacturer used to be a forensic exercise. Inspector arrives on a Monday. We’d spend the first week reconstructing which version of which rule applied to the incident in question. The second week was building the citation trail. The third week was rehearsing the response.
We were doing this every audit. Same exercise. Different finding each time, but the same three-week prep cycle.
What changed
We adopted RegLogic at the State / Multi-Site tier in early 2025. The first thing that mattered was the version history, every CFR section showing every amendment with effective and compliance dates. The second thing was the audit log export.
When the next inspection landed, we ran the citation trail export from the date of the incident. The forensic exercise was now a query.
The result
Audit prep is now four days instead of three weeks. The first three days are spent on substance, what actually happened, what the response should be, instead of on the forensic reconstruction.
More importantly, our finding rate is down. Not because we’re doing different things in the field, but because our response is grounded in defensible documentation from the start.
